Dialogue / Monologue
ARTISSIMA UNPLUGGED
7 November 2020 – 9 January 2021
The event takes place in a new format Unplugged, extended throughout the city and online that brings together physical exhibitions and digital projects.
In its physical guise the shows, sharing the theme Frenetic Standstill and curated by Ilaria Bonacossa, presents three projects in the museums of Fondazione Torino Musei (GAM – Galleria Civica d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea, Palazzo Madama – Museo Civico d’Arte Antica and MAOMuseo d’Arte Orientale), from 7 November 2020 to 9 January 2021.
The development of our human society was possible because of many circumstances, such as our ability to communicate and retain a historical memory. Passing on the knowledge throughout generations is the cornerstone of building civilizations. Just as the Rosetta Stone was the key to understanding the civilizations in the past, “Transcript“ is imagined as a monument of the now, an attempt to connect the oldest translated text in the history (the story of Gilgamesh from the library of Assyrian king Ashurbanipal) with the latest tools for encoding (the QR Code).
