Anca Poterașu Gallery is delighted to present for the first time at Liste Art Basel a solo presentation featuring new works by Aurora Király.

Aurora Király’s solo presentation at Liste brings together works from her Viewfinder series and recent projects developed during her 2024 residency at Kunsthalle Mulhouse. Supported by the Mulhouse Archives and the DMC Collection, these works reflect on women’s roles in the local textile industry, using archival photographs to create visual patterns that quietly honor their daily labor.

In the Viewfinder series, Aurora Király revisits analog self-portraits taken in the late 1990s, captured in her studio, during residencies, or while traveling. Her reflective poses, shadows, and the visible camera in hand blur the line between subject and observer. Created before the rise of the selfie, these intimate images explore identity and authorship through a personal lens. Recently re-framed on cardboard sheets, the series invites reflection on what we choose to photograph, while leaving the imagination open to the long history of photography.
