Winter Group Exhibition

This show is as much about the visual experience of painting as it is about the pure and unrelenting joy of working in this field.

Dragoș Bădiță, Iulian Bisericaru,
Adelina Ivan, Róbert Köteles, Zoltán Béla

December 15, 2018 – January 30, 2019

Anca Poterașu Gallery, Bucharest

We are happy to have reunited for this opening the artists working with such painterly languages – be it in the realms of abstract or figurative painting, surprisingly colourful or geometrically inclined. We celebrate some of our oldest collaborations with artists such as Zoltán Béla, Iulian Bisericaru, Róbert Köteles and some of our most recent partnerships such as the ones with Adelina Ivan and Dragos Bădiță.

…wildly different ways of seeing that our artists challenge us to get involved with.

Letter to our friends

This is our 7th exhibition at our gallery this year, at the end of a fast-paced 2018 that passed so much faster than can be compared with the eventfulness of it all. We opened a new satellite space in Leipzig, Germany, took part in four international art-fairs, worked for the first time with new artists and are very proud of the projects organized together with the Romanian Association for Contemporary Art, namely „Prut” documentary photography project by artist Matei Bejenaru exhibited at the National Museum of the Romanian Peasant and the Plantelor 58 artistic & curatorial residency.

We are anticipating the next solo shows at the gallery that we have in plan for 2019 and we wanted to give you, our visitors, the chance to catch a glimpse of the various, wildly different ways of seeing that our artists challenge us to get involved with.

This show is as much about the visual experience of painting as it is about the pure and unrelenting joy of working in this field, to be listening to the artists talking amongst themselves about their works as we are installing this exhibition and many other shows… the collaborative force of a small gallery team with a strong community around it.

Thank you for being with us every step of the way, every year, every show and project.

Happy Holidays and see you in 2019!
Anca Poterașu and Cristina Stoenescu
